eGuard for iPhone is on its way
We're building eGuard for iPhone and iPad, using Apple's Screen Time tools so protections are applied by the system itself, then checked on the device like everything else in eGuard. We don't have a release date yet, so we'd rather tell you when it's ready than guess.
What it will do on iPhone and iPad
The same ten protections as Android. Apple lets apps do slightly different things, so here's how each one is planned to work.
- Daily screen time limitsSet how long your child can use their phone or tablet each day, with a separate limit for weekends.Applied by eGuard
- Bedtime for phones and tabletsLock apps overnight on a schedule you choose, every night or only on school nights.Applied by eGuard
- Age ratings for appsAllow only apps rated for your child's age, and block the rest automatically.Applied by eGuard
- Approve new apps firstNew apps stay locked until you say yes. Your child can ask from their phone, and you answer from yours.Applied by eGuard
- Age ratings for movies, TV and booksLimit movies, TV shows and books on the device to the age rating you choose.Applied by eGuard
- Web filteringBlock harmful sites on your child's phone and in their computer's browser, or allow only the sites you choose.Applied by eGuard
- Approval for downloadsMake app store installs wait for a parent's OK.Applied by eGuard
- Location sharingSee where your child's phone is on a map, with sharing your child can see and you control. The platform doesn't let apps change this directly, so eGuard walks you through the steps on the device, then checks the result.Guided setup
- Quiet notifications at bedtimeSilence notifications during bedtime, so the phone doesn't wake your child up. The platform doesn't allow it. It never counts against your Configuration Health. Not available
- Uninstall protectionStop eGuard from being removed from your child's phone without you.Applied by eGuard
What you can do today
Manage from your iPhone's browser
The eGuard web dashboard works in Safari on your iPhone: add children, set protections and answer requests. Add it to your Home Screen to open it like an app.
Protect your child's Android phone
If your child uses Android, eGuard works on it now, whatever phone you use yourself. See how setup works.
Protect their computer's browser
The eGuard extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox filters websites on your child's computer today, Mac or Windows. Get the extension.
